In a nutshell

Assalamualaikum to Mdm Shahniza and all my beloved friends

This will be my last post.
First of all, I would like to thank each and every one of you for everything we have been through together.
Thank you madam, for being an awesome lecturer to all of us. I'm looking forward to see you during uhh, a subject for part 6,was it? hehe :D
And thank you Azua, for being my group mate, supporting everything I do from the very beginning.
I couldn't ask for a better teammate. :)

Apart from that,I would also like to apologize for all of my wrongdoings.
I can say I was very extremely upset due to a lot of things that didn't go how I planned it to be for this semester.
Of course, I'm totally aware about the fact that we can only plan and that Allah determines everything.
I flunked a lot of tests as I had been busy completing the projects. And yet, none of the systems seemed to please the lecturers. But that's okay because I can at least say I tried. I really did.
And I'm so sorry madam to have disappoint you. I will try harder next time, if ever there's any.
Halalkan segala benda yang madam ajarkan kat kami. Doakan kami ye madam.
Nanti insyaAllah ada masa saya ajak family saya makan kat Selera Tradisi. Eh apeni xD
Thank you again.

Until next time :3

RDF

RDF stands for Resource Description Framework (RDF).
If you know XML, here's a brief comparison.
Just like RDF, XML is also designed to be simple and general-purpose.
And yes, you can write RDF in XML.

RDF rules :
RDF uses web identifiers (URIs) to identify resources, and describe them with properties and property values.
Explanation of resource, property and property value are :

Resource : Anything that can have a URI, e.g "http://www.madlyhoney.blogspot.com"
Property : Resource that has a name, e.g "author" or "homepage"
Property value : Value of a property, such as "Aisyah Hani" or "http://www.blogger.com"(note that a property value can be another resource)

Ontology Web Language (OWL)

Assalamualaikum

What is OWL?
Firstly, OWL stands for Ontology Web Language (OWL).
OWL is a language for processing web information.
It is written in XML and has three sublanguages.

The three sublanguages are :

  • OWL Lite
  • OWL DL (includes OWL Lite)
  • OWL Full (includes OWL DL)

Built on top of RDF, it is designed to be interpreted by computers but not for being read by us humans.
Although OWL and RDF are quite similar, OWL can be said as a stronger language with greater machine interpretability than RDF.
OWL also comes with a larger vocabulary and stronger syntax than RDF.

The Semantic Web = a Web with a meaning.

Assalamualaikum

Semantic web can be defined as a web that is able to describe things in a way that computers can understand.
  • Alter Bridge is a popular American rock band
  • Mark Tremonti  is Alter Bridge's lead guitars and backing vocalist
  • "Watch Over You" was recorded by Alter Bridge

The Semantic Web = a Web with a meaning.

Sentences like these can be easily understood by people. But how can a computer understand them?
So basically, statements are built with syntax rules. The syntax of a language defines the rules for building the language statements. But how can syntax become semantic?

The Semantic Web describes the relationships between things (like A is a part of B and Y is a member of  Z) and the properties of things (like size, weight, age, and price).

"If HTML and the Web made all the online documents look like one huge book, RDF, schema, and inference languages will make all the data in the world look like one huge database"
Tim Berners-Lee, Weaving the Web, 1999

    What is UDDI? Hm...

    Assalamualaikum

    Let's see...what is UDDI ?
UDDI stands for Universal Description, Discovery and Integration. It is basically an XML-based registry for businesses worldwide to list themselves on the Internet.
UDDI is also a directory for storing information about web services and communicates via SOAP.
Its main goal is to streamline online transactions by enabling companies to find one another on the Web and make their system interoperable for e-commerce.
It is often compared to a telephone book's white, yellow and green pages.
That's it. Thanks for reading! :D

    I choose you, Google Chrome!

    Assalamualaikum.

For the web browser thingy, I have to say I prefer Google Chrome compared to all the other web browsers. This is because google chrome is a fast and free web browser.
It runs websites and applications with lightning speed.
We can also personalize our chrome by installing web apps, themes and extensions.
Moreover, google chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer and easier.
That's all about my favourite web browser.

    Thank you :)

    Demonstration of Progress PART 2

SO here we are in the lab still trying to configure the MySQL thingy.
At least Azua still is. As for me, I gave up this morning though. Sigh.

Hmm...Mdm Shahniza told us through facebook that we needed to show her our
progress for the project. And that if we'd like to show her in the lab or in the staff's room(our lecturer's room, of coure)
    .
We chose to meet her there in the room for the re-demo of our progress.
I simply am out of ideas. Azua is sitting next to me now, still figuring it out.
Okay now Raqib is helping us D:

Please please work dearest MySQL, we're gonna meet the lecturer soon T^T
    Until next time, ja matta~

    mysql or my sql? LULZ.

    I HATE MONDAYS!

ESPECIALLY when I don't have to go to class at 8.30 in the morning. Teehee~

Oh well, I was feeling so much under the weather and plus the weather now is constantly cold as it keeps raining everyday without fail.
But the excitement doesn't continue as I had a 10.30 class to attend.
I came late as usual due to the fact that the car wasn't in a good condition, it was raining and the traffic was kinda bad.

Honestly, all I wanted was to sit at home and sleep all day.
But I know that's not possible because I was absent on Monday the week before too.
I had no MC as I din't go to the clinic..all I can say is that I was just very unwell.Sometimes I think it makes no sense that you could go meet a doctor but you can't go to class/work. That's just weird, don't you think? D:

If you're sick, you're sick. Just stay in bed. Why bother seeing a doctor? Then again, that's just my opinion. Hehe, thank youu!

    Demonstration of Progress yaww

SO yeah, the day has come for us to present our project's progress.
Azua and I have almost completed our system's interface.
Not that it's anywhere near perfect. Tq.The things that we lack were just the database and a few codes for the ASP.

During the demo, we were told to not use Microsoft Access for the database
and that it is better to use MySQL for our database.
Hmm....sounds like a tough thing to do considering we've never used it before.
But, all is I good I hope...la.... D:Oh, dear Madam....Have mercy on us.
But don't you worry Madam, for we shall complete the project in compliance with all the rules you've given us T^T
    Arigatou gozaimasu minna-san~! ^-^v

    Summing it all up :)

I know I've abandoned the blog for almost 2 weeks now.

Sorry! I must say I have been very busy studying loafing around~

So the thing is, we got a week full of tests the 1st week I've  been away.
But there are 2 tests that had been postponed to this week (which is the 2nd week).
And the not so-nice fact is that those two killers are on the same day.

    1st week :

The class on Monday was running as normal but luckily it wasn't too cold or anything.
I remembered one part where Madam Shahniza said that one of the kopitiam called Hailam Kopitiam (if I'm not mistaken) cooks their customer's selection of foods in the same pan where they cook dogs. Ew.
So guys, please be very careful when you go to any kopitiam. Pork-free does NOT mean that the shop serves halal food.

As for the lab session, almost 90% of us were there earlier than we should.
We must be very excited for the lab session :P
Unfortunately, our lecturer couldn't make it to the lab that day.
Aw, but that's okay because honestly I was extremely tired (and sleepy!) then. Zzz.

    2nd week :

I'm kinda stressed out lately prolly cause there's just so many things to deal with aside from the non-stop tests. And yes, I have been missing some classes due to several reasons in which I have no control over (for some). This leads to lack of new info from the lecturers but I'd like to thank Azua & Syafiq for providing me all of the latest information that I needed to know. And to Mdm Shahniza, I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend your class last Monday because of tummy upset >_<

    That's all for now.
p/sFasten your seatbelts, gentlemen, it's going to be a bumpy ride.!
    Thank you  =3

    Hello November!

    November 1 2012.

Hm...yesterday was yet another boring, or should I say non productive day?
I haven't got anything much done yesterday, or any day since the mid term break started.

BUT,  I went to the library today to get some work done with my friends.
That's fairly productive to me ;)
Although I'd rather sit at home and do nothing except eat, play and sleep,
I think going to the library is definitely a great start to get all the works done.
Because I can't really get anything done at home, and you can't blame me for that because I personally think that most of you are just like me. No? Please say yes.

Anyway, it wasn't at all boring in the library given the fact that I was there with some crazy (and awesome!) friends along  hehehe  (n_n )v
Finally we went for a late lunch together and my jaw hurts from laughing too much -_-
T'was definitely an amazing day. Alhamdullilah.

Thank you so much for reading.

    It's Monday Again.

    Yep.

And it's one of the best Mondays in this year.
No class no work no nothing. Oh so heavenly~

But yeah, we still have to wake up early in the morning, no?
That's what I do everyday, at least heheh *perasan*
Okay so we're currently on our mid term break.
And I've absolutely nothing much to do apart from the fact that I've started to procrastinate again causing all the assignments to pile up waiting to be completed D:
So today I decided to make cookies to fill my time and they turned out perfectly well.
    I'm a happy person, teehee ^-^v
Btw, this is something I'd like to share with you. It's so funny xD
    The Sneezing Baby Panda
    Take a look :D

That's all for now. Thank you.

    Our First Test.

    Assalamualaikum.

Today is our first test for this subject.
We were so busy lately that I planned to pull an all-nighter to study for the test, the night before. But then I fell asleep and woke up at about 2 am. I would consider myself lucky because usually when I fell asleep without setting the alarm, I'd wake up at 4 or 5am.

Well actually I did set the alarm, but then my phone ran out of battery while I was sleeping.
So i panicked as soon as I realized it was 2 am and while they were debating over whether or not the test should be postponed on our group for Webtech in Facebook, I've been sleeping all along. Well great, my classmates have started studying, some might even be done with it, and I was sleeping and when I woke up I felt soooooooooooooo hungry (aside from the panic) T-T

I lay on the bed for a few more minutes after having a short argument with my brothers who were still awake and didn't bother waking me up when they knew I have a test the first thing in the morning the next day .
Later, I went down to heat the KFC leftover from last night dinner with the family. Wew. Know any girls who gets super hungry in the middle of the night? Yeah, that's me D:

And I sat down thinking how about how I was going to cover all 3 chapters as I chew on the leftover chicken *nom nom nom*. Oh and one thing about me is that I like to take my own sweet time when I eat. This is prolly because we were taught to never rush when we are having our meals. One chicken and a small glass of root beer took me nearly half an hour. And no, I'm not lying.  Done eating approximately around 3am. A happy girl I was, teehee.
Then I printed out a few notes from ilearn and I can't remember what I did because all I remembered was that I started studying at 5am and went back to bed at 5.40am  >_<"

I used to trust my instinct, but I was definitely wrong this time.
We were in the class the next day, looking fast at the door each time a classmate of ours walked in, in hope that when Mdm. Shahniza walks in, she would announce that she had decided to postponed the test to another day. Hehe, I hoped for it. Anyway the test was not postponed, and I couldn't answer a few questions but I didn't leave any questions unanswered. The results are not out yet. Please be lenient when marking our papers dear Madam :D

    Thank youu! :*

I forgot what we did on Wednesday :(

    Ahh yes.
LOL omg, upon completing the title above, I just remembered
we had to show our assignment for the AJAX thingy to our lecturer.
So we just need to sit back and wait for our names to be called.
And guess what, lucky number one..........WAS YOURS TRULY~   -_-

When my name was called, I told Mdm Shahniza that Aisyah was absent. I was secretly hoping nobody would blow my cover but unfortunately she memorizes our names already. Oh dear D:
Hehehe, kidding, was only fooling around lol. But yeah, she can tell us all apart so don't try this in class.

After gathering all the courage I had, I walked up to Mdm Shahniza and just showed what I had done for the assignment which involves A LOT of editing. Nuff said lol.
The next day, my classmate Ammar - aka Karim - , did remind me that what we did might be wrong as he remembered that our lecturer said something that goes like this, "I never said that what you did for the assignment was correct", in class during his presentation of the assignment. I was there when he presented but I didn't quite remember until he told me so.

So at about 4pm on that day, our lecturer posted about re-demo-ing the assignment once again via Facebook as the previous one in the lab sessions we showed her did not comply to the questions for the assignment. It was very alarming as we had little time to complete it before we get to re-demo it to her before 6pm. Nonetheless, we completed it and got to demo it too before 6pm. Alhamdulillah.

Thank you. To Madam Shahniza, the readers, and also my classmates. Eh  apeni.

    It's freezing in here!

IT'S funny how the lab session is always hot while the lecture class is always too cold :/
But frankly, I prefer being in a place that is rather hot than being in a place that is a little frigid~
Because then I'd be hyperactive. It's better than being in a state that's almost similar to brain freeze except with cold fingers, no?
Err. Not that I can focus as much being in such conditions anyway...can you? o.O

The lecture class was, nevertheless, awesome as always!
And it's really nice to have a lot of comedians in the class though, hahah.
They kinda beat the monday blues xD

In today's class, Mdm. Shahniza continued on Java Web Tech until the end of chapter 3.
Oh um during our upcoming lab session, we are going to be asked to define cookie and URL rewriting.
Apart from that, we need to be able to also differentiate JSF, MVC and ROR.
Aiya...not all of us went for that class la madam!!  T^T
But..that's okay, I'm sure Google will come to the rescue *winks*
Oh nu I almost forgot that we are going to have a test next week. Same time and same freezing place ;(

    Good luck y'all. And thankyou!

    Friday, October 12, 2012

    Being at a high temperature.

IT'S totally cool having to spend our time in the lab, where the air-conditioner was  supposed to be blasting away but it's not, as long as we have access to the Internet.

Yep, being in a hot lab brings us no harm whatsoever. The heat was still bearable as the standing fan was working perfectly well  :D

BUT no internet connection for 2 hours IN THE LAB? What more when you have to update the blog during that time of the lab session? It's like I'm missing the  first 10 minutes of the lab session that was merely reserved for the "Pre-Lab Blog Report".

Fidgeted, i know with this kind of situation,  i just can't sit still. On top of it, my handphone ran out of battery.
And we have 'that' class next.  Just PERFECT, don't you think ?  :D

Lol sorry I didn't mean to fill this post with all that.
Okay, I'm gonna write about the difference between internet and Internet.
And yeah, the most obvious one would be the uppercase and the lowercase at the first letter.
Looking back at my Data Communication and Networking notes back during diploma, internet means two or more networks that can communicate with each other. On the other hand, Internet is a collaboration (jointly-worked) of thousands of interconnected networks.

    Thank you.

I've got that Monday morning feeling~

    Assalamualaikum.

It has been a week and I know I have 2 pending posts to be uploaded (T_T *) -incl. this one
I apologize for the delay but nevertheless, i will submit them by today.

Now one of the many things we learned last Monday was that Javascript is not Java.
It's an interpreted programming language with object oriented capabilities weee~
    So basically,
AJAX - stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. It is a technique for creating fast and dynamic web pages as it will only refresh certain frames but not the whole page.

XML -  stands for Extensible Markup Language. It is designed to transport and store data.

XSLT - stands for XSL Transformations. It is used to transform XML documents into other XML documents.
DOM - stand for Document Object Model. It is designed to work with different script of programming language.

    Next, is jQuery.
jQuery is a framework for client side javascript. We use it in javascript for different functions

    Let's look at AJAX process.

That's all for this post. Thank you :)

    E x h a u s t e D

    Hello again.

There will be no presentation today but we have to show/submit (I'm not sure which is the right one) the Use Case Diagram and the Sequence Diagram of our system to Mdm Shahniza.

    Here comes our lecturer  :)
*She's making an announcement*....wew looks like she's going to give a task that requires two selected groups to develop a web to store student's data etc. The requirements will be given to them by this Monday. The two groups will be chosen from CS2314A and CS2314B, one of each.
It happens that she won't be in the class today as she has a meeting to attend.
But she did gave us work to be submitted tomorrow before 12pm  >_<"

AND we HAVE to do it in the class, right now D:

We have netcentric next. Lets pray that the class will be cancelled too. We soo can't wait to study more about Netbeans and all its(java) codings~
Hokelahh...imma do the work right now.

    Thankyou! :)

    Monday, October 1, 2012

If Mondays were shoes, they'd be Crocs.

What a lovely Monday morning. Aha  >_<"

Today we learned about JSON ,AJAX, etc. The lecturer asked us a few questions about Netbeans which we couldn't really answer. But yeah, we're currently taking advance netcentric lol.

Okaaaay, what is JSON ? First of all, it stands for Java Script Object Notation.
It is a data interchange format.......an interactive Web 2.0 application, which means no more use of page replacement........

    blablablablabla
    blablablablablaaa

Then we're told to look up the meaning of Internet and internet. See if there's any difference to it (notice the uppercase 'I' before the latter). Which there is, and  I know it. But I forgot what it is...wew~
Not to forget the examples of internet application, web and also web application yay.!

    blablabladanggblablaaaaa
    blablablatheclasswaspurdyhotbtwmustbetheairconditioneragainblablaaaaaaa

Kay Imma stop right there. Sorry for all the lame posts, over and over again. I just do it cuz I have to but I hope that by the end of this semester I will learn to like blogging, if Allah wills. Thanks! xD

    PRESENTATION TWO!

    Assalamualaikum.

Uhh as you can see, the blog layout remains untouched.
Procrastination is indeed a disease .
But not to worry, I will change the layout ASAP soon heheh.

Oh we'll be having another presentation today on ERD, context diagram,
data flow diagram (DFD), flowchart and the system architecture of our system.
Actually, Azua and I have decided to change the system but then we think that it's best
to just stay with the system we planned on doing before.

BUT IN THE EVENTS OF ANY DIFFICULTIES THAT WE THINK MAY OCCURwe might change the system and inform the lecturer before the deadline ends.
This is because we are having doubts on the current system as we think that it may be a little
too big complex for a project.

Mdm. Shahniza thought we should include total sales for the month for our current system etc. We're so glad as we do not have to make any corrections for it. Alhamdulillah  (^-^ )*

    Thank youu!
    Until next time =3

    Web Architectureee

IT'S time to change the layout of this blog.
It's too plain and just very disturbing.
Then again, I will do that....later.
    Or tomorrow D:

Um on our second lecture class, we learned about Web Architecture.
Mdm. Shahniza taught us that web architecture is an approach to the design and planning of websites which, like architecture itself, involves technical, aesthetic and functional criteria.
Apart from the definition of web architecture, we also learned about the types of web pages and the concept of a tier. In the midst of the lecture, we were asked to add a CV in our blog and make it as concise as possible. And oh, we need to add a few gadgets and stuff to make it more interactive...and fun maybe o.o

In addition to that, we learn about URL, URI, something about cloud computing (Xa-as, the characters represent Everything As A Service, respectively), presentation, logic and data. Finally, we were asked to look up on
    c
omparison of proprietary and open source technologies. But at the end of the class, we learned that Java and ASP are proprietary while PHP is open source. The only thing left is to find the comparison of those two and not to forget that we have another presentation during the upcoming lab session.
Azua and I planned to change our system and we really hope that Mdm. Shahniza will approve of it.
That's all for this post. Thank you and good night @_@

    N e t c e n t r i c ?

    Assalamualaikum.

AS promised, here I am updating 'the blog' again. The topic for this post will be on netcentric.
Now before I proceed, I'd like to correct a mistake I made on my previous post.
"We had breakfast before heading back to the hustle and bustle of the city  at about 3pm. " Whoops, what I meant to say was that we had breakfast and did our stuff until it was time to  head back home at 3pm. Sorriee heheh.

What is netcentric? You know..that, is one good question. Because frankly, I don't even know the answer to that question nor have I found anyone who was able to clearly answer it. But in certain situations where people aren't taking " I'm not really sure what netcentric is " for an answer, then I would say that it has something to do with developing a website which is connected to the network or something.

And oh,  we have netcentric classes every Wednesday and Thursday for this current semester. So the thing is, I have problems understanding Java ever since the 3rd semester during diploma then. I DON'T KNOW WHY. That's why I get freaked out every time the lecturer starts to randomly points at one of us to answer his questions *fidgeting*  D:

"I can at least say I tried!". Lol, I don't think so. All I know is I seem to fail to get it all in my head system over and over again. Why oh why! T-T   Okay STOP, TMI~

Thank you thank you thank you.
    Until next time ;)

    Happy Malaysia Day Malaysians!

"I believe all of you still owe me another 2 posts for the blog" said Mdm. Shahniza. We were like whuuuuuuut? D:
Yup, nobody said you could skip a post just because you don't have classes last Monday. Aww man...lol. Okay okay I'll update the blog, 2 posts don't bite anyway  x'(

    Hmm...soooo....what happened last Monday eh?
Lemme see...ah yes, I was at Segamat, a small town located in the north of the state of Johor. It's the place where my mum was born and raised  ( ^-^)v

My family and I were there since last Friday because my mum had an appointment that was kinda important and it can no longer be postponed. We had breakfast before heading back to the hustle and bustle of the city  at about 3pm.  Weee.

So that's about it. I shall publish another post in a bit regarding netcentric...*gulps*
And thanks again for yr time, peace out~

    It's getting hot in hereee~

    Assalamualaikum.

Hello again. Today is our third class for this course and also the day we are supposed to present a few things like the title for our system etcetc. The class should start at 2.10 pm but we came a little early today around 1.30 pm. When we came in, there were already a few unknown students inside the lab D:   We were kind of shocked because we thought we got into the wrong lab. But then one of them said that it's not their class at the time and that they were only loafing around in the lab and will leave soon. Phew~ *taking our own seats*.

A few minutes after Mdm. Shahniza came in, we were told to update our blog for about 10 minutes in every lab sessions of this course which is exactly what I'm doing now. Btw I think there's something wrong with the air conditioner...it doesnt seem to be functioning -_-"   So hot in here lahh...
Madam did mention that if it continues this way, we shall change the venue for next week onwards yeay~!!

Okay gotta run. Thank you for reading. Bye :)

    Monday, September 17, 2012

    A new semester begins.

OK so I created this blog 3 years ago.
If you look at the previous post, there's only one post I made.
I'm actually not one to blog and so far I've only made a few more posts
which I've deleted because I have decided to turn this blog for  ITT 544 - Web Technology purposes only.

This is because on the first class on this new semester, we've been asked  by our lecturer, Mdm. Nor Shahniza Bt Kamal Bashah to create a blog for this course and to update it like, twice a week?  X_X  I am so dead.  But for the marks, I shall update it more often tq *grins*
As for my opinion on this course, I think I find it rather interesting on the first class and I know it's gonna be more exciting once we've learned it more deeply throughout the semester.  And oh, and we're also given an assignment which requires us to create a system that uses ASP, Java etc. But, my partner in crime, Nor Azua Binti Samsul Kahar and I are still debating whether to use ASP or Java for our system. We shall come up with a suitable method for our system though, wait for it! D:
I think that's all for now. Thank you for reading.

    Assalamualaikum.
